About Us

     Operation Refuge was incorporated as a non profit organization in May 2001. Prior to that time,we were busy providing food for a number of local organizations and churches from a local church parking lot. We have been committed since 1993 to help others.
     As a faith and community based organization we depend on the generosity of individuals, church partners and the business community. Our mission is three fold: to provide food and assistance to those in an emergency or crisis, toys for children during the Christmas holidays ( we gave two gifts each to 293 children in 2003) and to develop a way to increase literacy in the Cleveland area. We serve as the liaison with the Salvation Army in Cleveland and encourage the Kettle campaign during the Christmas holidays.
     The nine member board of directors include representatives from different sectors of the city. We exist because others are willing to give of themselves. Together we are making a difference in our community.
     As a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization we welcome your involvement financially or as a volunteer. Donations can be mailed to O.R.I. at P. O. Box 355 Cleveland, TX 77328. A tax deductible letter is sent at the end of the year.
