CANNED FOOD DRIVES
Once again our local Post Office letter carriers
conducted a wonderful food
drive "Stamp Out Hunger". Thousands of pounds of food was donated to
the
pantry. We appreciated Rick Peterson, union steward, and our new postmistress,
Anna Vale, for their help. The following persons with the National Association
of
Letter Carriers were invaluable: Mike Hill, Rex Anderson, James Cohn, Mark
Sisemert And Chris Bisseil. The National Rural Letter Carriers who also picked
up food were Julie McAnally, Gary Johnson, Lisa Gustafson, Judy Herman,
Cheryl Lott, Cynthia Scholze, Pam Dolney, Teresa Broussard, Tina
Burroughs, Kathy Evans, Jewel Jackson, Debra Baumgarth, Melody
Whidden and Glenda Younablood
In addition, First Baptist Church And Crossroads Baptist Church held food
drives during Vacation Bible School. The Board of Directors of the Cleveland
Chamber of Commerce bought a pig at Dairy Day and donated the meat to the
pantry. Reed Processing in Plum Grove donated the labor to process the meat.
Thank you to J. Rice, Chamber President and Steve and Tommy Reed!
Kenneth and Roberta Howard have consistently donated fresh yard eggs to the
pantry. Brookshire Brothers donated a truck load of bread. What a blessing! As
you can see, we have been blessed and we are very grateful.

YOUTH GROUPS GIVE OF THEMSELVES
Calvary Youth Group |
The youth from First Baptist Church on May
15th, Calvary Baptist Church on June 28th and Liberty Christian
Fellowship on June 30th donated lots of hard work at the
Food Pantry and the Thrift Shop. It is wonderful to see
the youth leaders and the young people learning at an early
age to give back to their community. A huge word of thanks
to each one of them. |
