A Baby Monitor that will continuously transmit sound?

We have the AngelCare Motion Baby Monitor and are disappointed because the sound only transmits when our baby really fusses. The sound doesn't pick up any of her smaller sounds, grunts, or whimpers. My wife is frustrated and dismayed because we can't hear everything.

I want to get a simple baby sound monitor (no motion, no video) that will ALWAYS transmit sound to the parent unit, even if there isn't any noise. I'm having trouble finding information on the web about whether the monitors actually do this.

I love, love our monitor - The First Years Ultra Range, 2.4GHz. It can pick up the faintest breathing sounds, but I never hear static unless I am out of range. It doesn't go silent when it doesn't detect a sound - the sound is constant, you hear it ALL, all the time. The range is fantastic - we have almost an acre of land, I can go to the neighbor's house who has an acre, and still hear the breathing on the monitor.

I had a Sony one first, then two Graco's. Then another one, can't remember which one it was, but then finally struck gold with number five. Plus, I have dropped the parent unit more times than I can remember - even on concrete - and the thing is still working like a champ. Hands down, the best monitor I ever had.

Now my daughter is a bit older, I use it to listen in on her and her playtime when I am downstairs and she is upstairs. Many "accidents" have been thwarted because of my eavesdropping with the monitor. No Barbies down the potty yet!
